Iki no Matsubara

It is a pine grove of Japanese black pine trees that have lived over 100 years along the bow-shaped beach on the shore of Imazu Bay.
Similar pine forests existed in Momochi, Hakozaki and Chiyo along Hakata Bay, but they have disappeared because of urbanization and “Iki no Matsubara” is the only one left.
The beach overlooking Nokonoshima Island in Hakata Bay is very beautiful, so many families come visit and enjoy it in summer.
On the other side of the Juro River, there is Odo Yacht Harbor, which is the largest yacht harbor in western Japan, and white masts are impressive. It is very popular among many citizens that love the sea.
